Polybius - the haunted mind control arcade game
For those of you unfamiliar with the 'urban legend' Polybius let me catch you us to speed. This mysterious game was said to have one day show up in an arcade in 'Portland, Oregon in 1981. Kids in the arcade flocked to the new game, fights broke out with those waiting to see what it was all about. Little did the know the consequences of such a game. As to what the content was and if it really existed that depends on the sources you look but all sources come out with the same result in the end. Those who played Polybius were driven mad, many had psychological breakdowns, somewhere said to have been institutionalized, a good number committed suicide. So why does this tie to MKULTRA? simple, these symptoms and many other described with it are the same that come from a bad trip with LSD which the CIA secretly tested on the American public on more than one instance. LSD can be in many forms, liquid, power, hidden in bread, possibly even gas (the gas was never confirmed officially but had been tested) So, one possibility is that the machine had traces of LSD on it large enough to cause someone to get high. The game was said to be full of color and geometric shapes that would transform. Given that no proof has been given that this machine even existed makes it difficult to know what the game exactly contained. It was explained to have flashing lights, spinning colors and morphing objects. Using children in an arcade to collect data is the CIA equivalent of taking candy from a baby. A fascinating video explaining the connections between MKULTRA and Polybius will be in the post later on. LSD is defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary as "a semisynthetic illicit organic compound C20H25N3O derived from ergot that induces extreme sensory distortions, altered perceptions of reality, and intense emotional states, that may also produce delusions or paranoia, and that may sometimes cause panic reactions in response to the effects experienced — called also lysergic acid diethylamide" Now I don't know about you but I would never want this drug in my system let alone when I am playing a video game. Another factor that leads people to believe that the two are connected is the people who came to maintain the game. They were described as men in black suits who walked in, collected data, and left without saying a word (creepy!). The game disappeared without a trace within months of its appearance. This may have been after the official timeline of MKULTRA but I don't think it really ended in 1973 and this is just one instance that proves that it is ongoing.
Now to some of you the thought of the government lying about when something has ended seem incomprehensible. But it's not like it hasn't happened before. The government doesn't always release information to the public in fear of the reaction and also to keep things from us. The end of this video has an excellent quote from a former CIA agent which states "The real reason for the official secrecy, in most instances, is not to keep the opposition from knowing what is going on; the enemy usually does know. The basic reason for governmental secrecy is to keep you, the American public, from knowing - for you, too, are considered the opposition, the enemy... In fact, they can even lie to you about what they are doing or have done, and you will not know it." If a former CIA agent says something like this then you know that there is much that we as the public have to learn. We will not know what is happening much of the time which is very disturbing. For all we know the government could be controlling us through the programs we watch, the apps we use, the food we eat, the places we go, where we shop and more. Subliminal mind control has been used in programs on the television for years, it's an excellent sales technique.
